The Bears bet the future on Williams. The board says B-.

The one hole that towered over the rest is filled. The Bears spent their marquee pick on Caleb Williams, and for the first time in a while there is a real answer at quarterback.

For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain. They banked enough surplus on Haynes to cover a lot of smaller sins. The offense got the lion's share of the attention.

Job largely done: interior defensive lineman settled and 4 of 8 of the wish list covered.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
