The Texans indulged a want in Hart while a need in edge rusher, quarterback and other spots stayed open. Reaching for Smith left real value on the table behind him. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up.

Running back is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
