Draft Grade — Falcons
Overall D-
ValueB NeedB TradesF FutureC+
The Falcons robbed the room for Egbuka. Final grade: D-.

The Falcons lost the trade war and it was not close, handing partners the better end again and again.

Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. Reaching for Sawyer left real value on the table behind him.

Egbuka at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster.

Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, quarterback very much included.

Pick Analysis
Pick20 Rnd1 Jack Sawyer
In the 20th overall pick they get a double-digit-sack hope, even if it was a touch early.
Pick33 Rnd2 Walter Nolen
A quiet steal in the Round 2 slot: Walter Nolen for less than the market said. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick46 Rnd2 Emeka Egbuka
The board fumbled Emeka Egbuka all the way to pick No. 46, and they scooped it up. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick51 Rnd2 Trey Amos
Trey Amos at Round 2, Pick 19 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick197 Rnd6 Brandon Crenshaw-Dickson
By-the-book stuff, Brandon Crenshaw-Dickson at slot 197 squarely in line with his ranking. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick218 Rnd7 Jay Higgins
Jay Higgins slid further than he should have, and pick 218 is lovely value for the linebacker. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick242 Rnd7 Jabbar Muhammad
A reasonable price with a little left over, Jabbar Muhammad in Round 7, Pick 26. It is more luxury than necessity; they were already set here.
