Draft Grade — Ravens
Overall D
ValueB NeedB TradesF FutureB-
The Ravens robbed the room for Simon. Final grade: D.

The phones were a trap the Ravens kept walking into, shipping out surplus on nearly every deal. Too much went sideways, and the D is the honest tally.

The Simon pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped running back, which is a strange place to end up. The cost of the Ezeiruaku reach is exactly the players who went right after him.

Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, running back very much included.

Pick Analysis
Pick27 Rnd1 Malaki Starks
In No. 27 they get a ballhawk on the back end at fair value. More want than need.
Pick57 Rnd2 Azareye'h Thomas
A market-rate cornerback, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Azareye'h Thomas. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick59 Rnd2 Donovan Ezeiruaku
A reach on Donovan Ezeiruaku in pick No. 59; the board had better options right there. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick91 Rnd3 Donovan Jackson
A slide stopped in the 91st overall pick, with Donovan Jackson worth more than the price. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick176 Rnd5 Dont'e Thornton Jr.
Dont'e Thornton Jr. in the 176th pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick178 Rnd5 Cody Simon
Cody Simon in slot 178 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick185 Rnd6 JJ Pegues
JJ Pegues slipping to the Round 6 slot is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick205 Rnd6 Oronde Gadsden II
Oronde Gadsden II at pick No. 205 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. The roster fit checks out.
Pick213 Rnd6 Ajani Cornelius
A top-tier offensive lineman at a bargain, Ajani Cornelius in slot 213, plain and simple. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick245 Rnd7 Isaac TeSlaa
They barely believed it either: Isaac TeSlaa still on the board at the 245th pick. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
