Draft Grade — Giants
Overall B-
ValueC NeedB+ TradesD+ FutureA
A franchise passer in Dart headlines a B- weekend for the Giants.

The one hole that towered over the rest is filled. The Giants spent their marquee pick on Jaxson Dart, and for the first time in a while there is a real answer at quarterback.

Monangai at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. If Dart pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. A small leak at the table, if not a fatal one.

A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.

Pick Analysis
Pick12 Rnd1 Jaxson Dart
In pick 12 they get a passer to set the clock by, a steep price for the projection.
Pick34 Rnd2 Tyleik Williams
A premium they did not need to pay, Tyleik Williams a notch or two before his time. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick44 Rnd2 JT Tuimoloau
JT Tuimoloau in Round 2, Pick 12 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick65 Rnd3 Ozzy Trapilo
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Ozzy Trapilo. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick76 Rnd3 Maxwell Hairston
They did well to land Maxwell Hairston in the Round 3 slot, just ahead of his grade. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick99 Rnd3 Gunnar Helm
They read the board right and Gunnar Helm was the payoff at the 99th pick. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick105 Rnd4 Andrew Mukuba
They will replay Andrew Mukuba at No. 105 for years; that is how good the value is. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick154 Rnd5 Dont'e Thornton Jr.
They talked themselves into Dont'e Thornton Jr. at the 154th overall pick, and the board did not agree. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick219 Rnd7 Joshua Gray
Joshua Gray in No. 219 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick246 Rnd7 Kyle Monangai
Somehow Kyle Monangai was still sitting there in pick No. 246, and they pounced on premier running back value. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
