Draft Grade — Packers
Overall B
ValueB NeedB TradesB+ FutureB
Dixon should have been long gone. The Packers pounced, and earned a B.

Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Johnny Dixon got past him. The Packers do not have to explain a thing at Round 6, Pick 44. Good, not great, and the B says as much.

The Gore Jr. pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. A whole weekend of picks and quarterback is somehow still a want.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the quarterback spot they never got to.

Pick Analysis
Pick25 Rnd1 Byron Murphy II
They did well to land Byron Murphy II in the 25th overall pick, just ahead of his grade. The roster fit checks out.
Pick48 Rnd2 T.J. Tampa
They paid sticker price for T.J. Tampa in slot 48, and that is fine. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick58 Rnd2 Kingsley Suamataia
Kingsley Suamataia in Round 2, Pick 26 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick88 Rnd3 Jaden Hicks
A reasonable price with a little left over, Jaden Hicks in the 88th pick. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick91 Rnd3 Malik Washington
A straight-up fair deal on Malik Washington at pick 91, value and slot in agreement. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick126 Rnd4 Mohamed Kamara
Mohamed Kamara at No. 126 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick169 Rnd5 Walter Rouse
Walter Rouse at the Round 5 slot is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick202 Rnd6 Frank Gore Jr.
Frank Gore Jr. at pick No. 202 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick212 Rnd6 Curtis Jacobs
Curtis Jacobs at No. 212 is money in the bank, a linebacker taken below his worth. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick219 Rnd6 Johnny Dixon
Steal is underselling it; Johnny Dixon at pick No. 219 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick245 Rnd7 Tylan Grable
Tylan Grable in Round 7, Pick 25 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick255 Rnd7 Bub Means
A tidy bit of business in the Round 7 slot, where Bub Means graded well above the range. It fills a real need, too.
