The Broncos did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and Nick Emmanwori fell into pick 51.

Every board in the league had McLaughlin lower, and that gap is the story. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up. Small wins on the phones, but wins all the same.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
