Draft Grade — Bears

FutureB-
The phones sank the Bears this weekend: D+. There was a run on nobody at that position, and the Bears started one anyway for Jarquez Hunter, 67 picks ahead of schedule.
The trade table is where this weekend went wrong. Getting King where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class.
Leaving cornerback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.
Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even.
Pick Analysis
Pick20
Rnd1
JT Tuimoloau
In No. 20 they get a quarterback's worst nightmare. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick25
Rnd1
Emery Jones Jr.
In pick 25 they get a blindside protector at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick46
Rnd2
Sonny Styles
No drama and no debate, Sonny Styles went about where he belonged in the 46th overall pick. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick98
Rnd3
Parker Brailsford
They left a pile of value on the table to take Parker Brailsford this early at the 98th pick. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick99
Rnd3
Evan Stewart
Evan Stewart in pick No. 99 is fair value, right on his grade. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick103
Rnd4
Jaeden Roberts
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Jaeden Roberts. It fills a real need, too.
Pick120
Rnd4
Jake Briningstool
The board had cheaper options than Jake Briningstool at No. 120, and it noticed. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick149
Rnd5
Garrett Dellinger
Garrett Dellinger at the 149th overall pick is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick209
Rnd6
Joey Slackman
A straight-up fair deal on Joey Slackman at slot 209, value and slot in agreement. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick245
Rnd7
Jarquez Hunter
They reached a country mile for Jarquez Hunter at pick No. 245, and the board is aghast. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick256
Rnd7
Haynes King
Circle this one: Haynes King at Round 7, Pick 42 is a fall that decides a draft. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
