Draft Grade — Bills
Overall

FutureC+
A mixed bag for the Bills, and a C+ to match. You can hear the double-takes from here. The Bills took Anthony Gould at pick 197, roughly 69 spots before his name belonged. The good and the questionable cancel out to a C+.
They banked enough surplus on Henderson to cover a lot of smaller sins. For all the activity, linebacker went untouched, which is hard to explain.
The veteran additions, Jaylon Johnson chief among them, give the class a floor the rookies alone would not.
A perfectly average weekend, for better and for worse.
Pick Analysis
Pick29
Rnd1
Xavier Legette
They paid sticker price for Xavier Legette in the Round 1 slot, and that is fine. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick60
Rnd2
Xavier Worthy
They will replay Xavier Worthy at slot 60 for years; that is how good the value is. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick92
Rnd3
Johnny Wilson
Steal is underselling it; Johnny Wilson at the 92nd overall pick is a heist with the alarm still ringing. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick99
Rnd3
Darius Robinson
A real head-scratcher, Darius Robinson in pick No. 99 is miles ahead of his ranking. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick129
Rnd4
Keith Randolph Jr.
Keith Randolph Jr. at Round 4, Pick 29 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick159
Rnd5
Jaylen Wright
Jaylen Wright in pick 159 is fair value, right on his grade. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick162
Rnd5
Cam Hart
Cam Hart at the 162nd pick is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick197
Rnd6
Anthony Gould
They left a pile of value on the table to take Anthony Gould this early at No. 197. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick202
Rnd6
Nathan Thomas
Taking Nathan Thomas in the 202nd overall pick is close to grand larceny; an offensive lineman that good had no business lasting this long. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick206
Rnd6
LaDarius Henderson
LaDarius Henderson at Round 6, Pick 31 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick246
Rnd7
Jase McClellan
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Jase McClellan at slot 246. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
