Whoever sat across the table from the Patriots should ask for a receipt. They cleaned the room out, prying loose far more value than they gave up, and it was the quiet MVP of their weekend. Call it a sensible B+, earned the boring way.

The Smith pick reads as want over need, and the roster will feel it at edge rusher, safety and other spots. Reaching for Bell left real value on the table behind him.

The edge rusher spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. The Carson steal is the beam this whole class leans on.

Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
