Nobody had Tywone Malone Jr. this high, and it is not close. The Cowboys reached 142 spots to get him at the 225th overall pick. It does the job without flash, and the B- reflects it.

The wide receiver spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. That Reese pick is the receipt they will wave around later. Cornerback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

Nearly every premium pick went to that side of the ball.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
