Somewhere a scout is still blinking. The Cowboys spent No. 221 on Jehiem Oatis, a name the board had a full 32 spots lower. The board pushed back all weekend, and the D- is the result.

Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere. A whole weekend of picks and linebacker is somehow still a want. Getting McKinney where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class.

Wide receiver was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, linebacker very much included.
