Draft Grade — Rams
Overall B+
ValueB NeedB- TradesA+ FutureB-
The Rams let Scott fall into their laps, and walked away with a B+.

You could see the war room lean forward. Keionte Scott at pick No. 93 is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did.

The phones were where this weekend was really won. They will answer for taking cornerback early while running back and edge rusher went begging.

A whole weekend of picks and running back is somehow still a want. Wide receiver was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.

Pick Analysis
Pick26 Rnd1 Avieon Terrell
In pick No. 26 they get a press-man option on the boundary at a price that makes it sweeter. Need was not the driver here.
Pick29 Rnd1 Sonny Styles
In Round 1, Pick 29 they get a downhill thumper at linebacker. More want than need.
Pick49 Rnd2 Dillon Thieneman
They let Dillon Thieneman come to them and pounced at pick 49. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick60 Rnd2 Jake Slaughter
Jake Slaughter at the Round 2 slot is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick61 Rnd2 Caleb Banks
They read the board right and Caleb Banks was the payoff at No. 61. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick93 Rnd3 Keionte Scott
A curious use of the 93rd overall pick. Running back and edge rusher needed the pick; a cornerback in Keionte Scott did not.
Pick126 Rnd4 Michael Trigg
Michael Trigg at slot 126 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick166 Rnd5 Aaron Anderson
A tidy bit of business in the 166th pick, where Aaron Anderson graded well above the range. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick167 Rnd5 Sawyer Robertson
They took Sawyer Robertson at par in the 167th pick, which is nothing to complain about. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick205 Rnd6 Trey Zuhn III
Trey Zuhn III at pick No. 205 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick208 Rnd6 Barion Brown
A straight-up fair deal on Barion Brown at Round 6, Pick 29, value and slot in agreement. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick228 Rnd7 Riley Mahlman
Riley Mahlman at the Round 7 slot is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the offensive lineman. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick232 Rnd7 PJ Williams
They did well to land PJ Williams in the 232nd overall pick, just ahead of his grade. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick240 Rnd7 Luke Hasz
They paid sticker price for Luke Hasz in slot 240, and that is fine. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick250 Rnd7 Jordan Hall
A reasonable price with a little left over, Jordan Hall in No. 250. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick256 Rnd7 Ja'Keem Jackson
Good price on Ja'Keem Jackson in pick 256, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
