Larceny in Round 2, Pick 7 lands the Bears a B+, Warren and all. Give the war room a raise for the dealing alone. The Bears came out ahead on every exchange that mattered, and it was not close. It nets out to a B+, which feels about right.
Warren at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
Pick Analysis
Pick25
Rnd1
Jalon Walker
In slot 25 they get a downhill thumper at linebacker. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick39
Rnd2
Tyler Warren
A tight end of that caliber at the Round 2 slot is the definition of value, full stop. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick41
Rnd2
Malaki Starks
A quiet steal in the 41st pick: Malaki Starks for less than the market said. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick72
Rnd3
Cameron Williams
Fair-plus on Cameron Williams, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. A need, and now a little less of one.
