Nope DRAFTING FOR THEChiefs

Draft Grade — Chiefs
Overall
B
ValueB
NeedB+
TradesB-
FutureB-
A respectable, level-headed haul for the Chiefs: B. The tape said wait; the Chiefs did not. Darius Robinson went at the 95th overall pick, a good 26 picks before the board was ready.
Simpson falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain.
Wide receiver is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick Analysis
Pick32
Rnd1
Troy Franklin
Nothing to complain about; Troy Franklin went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick64
Rnd2
Kiran Amegadjie
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Kiran Amegadjie in the 64th pick. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick95
Rnd3
Darius Robinson
They talked themselves into Darius Robinson at the 95th overall pick, and the board did not agree. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick133
Rnd4
Ben Sinnott
A premium they did not need to pay, Ben Sinnott a notch or two before his time. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick158
Rnd5
Braelon Allen
Braelon Allen at the Round 5 slot is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick172
Rnd5
Jaylin Simpson
They barely believed it either: Jaylin Simpson still on the board at pick No. 172. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick210
Rnd6
JD Bertrand
A reasonable price with a little left over, JD Bertrand in slot 210. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick250
Rnd7
Matthew Jones
A reach for Matthew Jones in pick No. 250; a little patience would have been rewarded. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
