Draft Grade — Cowboys
Overall B+
ValueB NeedB+ TradesA+ FutureB-
A masterclass at the trade table lands the Cowboys a B+.

The best pick of the weekend was also the simplest. The Cowboys watched Tyleik Williams slide 37 picks past his grade and did not hesitate. Call it a sensible B+, earned the boring way.

Conner has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck. The quarterback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.

The Cowboys paired the rookies with proven help, Josh Downs leading the way.

A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.

Pick Analysis
Pick14 Rnd1 Emeka Egbuka
In pick No. 14 they get a No. 1 receiver. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick44 Rnd2 Colston Loveland
Somehow Colston Loveland was still sitting there in the Round 2 slot, and they pounced on premier tight end value. The roster fit checks out.
Pick76 Rnd3 Tyleik Williams
Tyleik Williams in Round 3, Pick 12 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick152 Rnd5 Cody Simon
Value with a capital V on Cody Simon in the Round 5 slot, a genuine coup. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick154 Rnd5 Logan Brown
By-the-book stuff, Logan Brown at No. 154 squarely in line with his ranking. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick170 Rnd5 Kobe King
Steal is underselling it; Kobe King at the 170th pick is a heist with the alarm still ringing. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick172 Rnd5 Ollie Gordon II
Ollie Gordon II in the 172nd overall pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick174 Rnd5 Hayden Conner
Hayden Conner at pick 174 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick190 Rnd6 Dorian Strong
Nice patience on Dorian Strong, who had no business lasting to pick No. 190. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick211 Rnd6 Miles Frazier
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Miles Frazier well ahead of where he belonged. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick249 Rnd7 Moliki Matavao
They liked Moliki Matavao enough to skip the value, taking him in the Round 7 slot. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
