The tape said wait; the Cowboys did not. Kedon Slovis went at pick No. 216, a good 88 picks before the board was ready. Some smart calls, some head-scratchers, and a C in the wash.

Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere. That tight end hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.

Wide receiver is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it. Quantity was the play, for better or worse.

It grades out a shrug today, with plenty of room to move either way.
