Draft Grade — Panthers
Overall B
ValueB NeedB+ TradesA- FutureB-
The Panthers let Moore fall and pounced. Final grade: B.

Somebody in the 141st pick was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Panthers sat still while Malachi Moore, the No. 95 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B.

The offensive lineman hole is the one line item this class does not answer. The trade work was a quiet net positive. Wide receiver was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

The weekend tilted hard toward the defense.

In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.

Pick Analysis
Pick12 Rnd1 Mykel Williams
In No. 12 they get a bendy edge with upside. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick44 Rnd2 Jalon Walker
Jalon Walker at the 44th overall pick is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick55 Rnd2 Isaiah Bond
Isaiah Bond in pick 55 is fair value, right on his grade. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick57 Rnd2 Alfred Collins
A market-rate interior defensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Alfred Collins. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick110 Rnd4 Tez Johnson
They robbed the room for Tez Johnson here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick141 Rnd5 Malachi Moore
Steal is underselling it; Malachi Moore at Round 5, Pick 2 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick190 Rnd6 Dorian Strong
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Dorian Strong at pick No. 190. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick229 Rnd7 Trevor Etienne
Trevor Etienne in slot 229 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
