Somebody in pick 230 was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Lions sat still while Ollie Gordon II, the No. 164 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium.

If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through safety. The Hamilton pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. Cornerback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
