Adam DRAFTING FOR THEBears

Draft Grade — Bears

TradesA+
FutureB-
The Bears won the weekend at the trade table. Grade: B. Whoever sat across the table from the Bears should ask for a receipt. They cleaned the room out, prying loose far more value than they gave up, and it was the quiet MVP of their weekend. Good, not great, and the B says as much.
If Kinchens pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. For all the activity, interior defensive lineman went untouched, which is hard to explain.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick Analysis
Pick4
Rnd1
Malik Nabers
In No. 4 they get a matchup problem out wide. A real need, handled.
Pick12
Rnd1
Chop Robinson
Chop Robinson at the 12th pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick21
Rnd1
Ja'Tavion Sanders
In slot 21 they get a mismatch in the passing game at fair value. Need was not the driver here.
Pick40
Rnd2
JT Tuimoloau
A reasonable price with a little left over, JT Tuimoloau in the 40th overall pick. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick44
Rnd2
Kamren Kinchens
They reached a country mile for Kamren Kinchens at pick No. 44, and the board is aghast. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick68
Rnd3
Jackson Powers-Johnson
They paid up for Jackson Powers-Johnson at pick 68 when waiting would have done the job. The roster fit checks out.
Pick72
Rnd3
Ja'Lynn Polk
No edge and no loss on Ja'Lynn Polk in Round 3, Pick 8; it is a wash and a sensible one. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick104
Rnd4
Audric Estime
They went early on Audric Estime in the Round 4 slot, and the value did not follow. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick132
Rnd4
Sataoa Laumea
A reach on Sataoa Laumea in slot 132; the board had better options right there. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
