Childish7Bambino DRAFTING FOR THEFalcons

Draft Grade — Falcons
Overall
B
ValueB-
NeedB+
TradesA+
FutureD+
The Falcons finally solved quarterback, and it carried them to a B. Start where it matters. The Falcons took Jayden Daniels to run the offense for the next decade, and every other decision this weekend bends around that one. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B.
They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own. The McGlothern value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere.
A whole weekend of picks and tight end is somehow still a want. The bill for those future picks comes due whether the class hits or not.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the tight end spot they never got to.
Pick Analysis
Pick3
Rnd1
Jayden Daniels
In Round 1, Pick 3 they get a franchise quarterback. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick74
Rnd3
Xavier Worthy
The board fumbled Xavier Worthy all the way to the 74th overall pick, and they scooped it up. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick100
Rnd3
Khyree Jackson
Khyree Jackson is a better player than No. 100 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick121
Rnd4
Sataoa Laumea
They did well to land Sataoa Laumea in pick 121, just ahead of his grade. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick126
Rnd4
McKinnley Jackson
Nothing to complain about; McKinnley Jackson went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick142
Rnd5
Nelson Ceaser
Nelson Ceaser in slot 142 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick154
Rnd5
Tykee Smith
A tidy little value on Tykee Smith in pick No. 154, a step better than break-even. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick195
Rnd6
Dwight McGlothern
They will replay Dwight McGlothern at the Round 6 slot for years; that is how good the value is. A want more than a need, though you can never have too many.
Pick197
Rnd6
Caedan Wallace
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Caedan Wallace at pick No. 197 is the proof. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick218
Rnd6
Frank Gore Jr.
Frank Gore Jr. in Round 6, Pick 43 is fair value, right on his grade. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
