Draft Grade — Bengals
Overall

FutureB-
The Bengals fleeced the room on the phones and earned a B. Give the war room a raise for the dealing alone. The Bengals came out ahead on every exchange that mattered, and it was not close. Good, not great, and the B says as much.
Every board in the league had Fisher lower, and that gap is the story. That is an offensive lineman worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through cornerback. Adding Bijan Robinson by trade rounds out the weekend beyond the rookies.
Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
Pick Analysis
Pick24
Rnd1
Brian Thomas Jr.
In the 24th pick they get a No. 1 receiver at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick49
Rnd2
Ruke Orhorhoro
They liked Ruke Orhorhoro enough to skip the value, taking him in No. 49. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick80
Rnd3
Christian Haynes
Christian Haynes at pick 80 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. It fills a real need, too.
Pick87
Rnd3
Blake Fisher
They reached into another round for Blake Fisher, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick97
Rnd3
Tyler Davis
Tyler Davis in pick No. 97 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick115
Rnd4
Theo Johnson
Theo Johnson in Round 4, Pick 15 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick149
Rnd5
Xavier Thomas
They went early on Xavier Thomas in the 149th overall pick, and the value did not follow. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
