Draft Grade — Bears
Overall B-
ValueB- NeedB- TradesC FutureB-
A franchise passer in Williams headlines a B- weekend for the Bears.

Start where it matters. The Bears took Caleb Williams to run the offense for the next decade, and every other decision this weekend bends around that one. No fireworks, but a solid B-.

For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain. If Powers-Johnson pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. James Conner gives the group a proven body among the projects.

Offensive lineman is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

Good work on the whole, with edge rusher the one box left unchecked.

Pick Analysis
Pick1 Rnd1 Caleb Williams
In slot 1 they get the face of the franchise. A real need, handled.
Pick26 Rnd1 Keon Coleman
In pick No. 26 they get a difference-maker at receiver at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick27 Rnd1 Jordan Morgan
No edge and no loss on Jordan Morgan in No. 27; it is a wash and a sensible one. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick35 Rnd2 Jackson Powers-Johnson
A reach on Jackson Powers-Johnson in pick 35; the board had better options right there. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick75 Rnd3 Malachi Corley
A market-rate wide receiver, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Malachi Corley. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick111 Rnd4 Sataoa Laumea
A conviction pick on Sataoa Laumea at the 111th pick that the board grades a round light. The roster fit checks out.
Pick123 Rnd4 Cole Bishop
By-the-book stuff, Cole Bishop at the Round 4 slot squarely in line with his ranking. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
