The Cowboys answered their biggest question with McCarthy. Grade: D.

Somewhere a scout is still blinking. The Cowboys spent slot 244 on Matt Lee, a name the board had a full 31 spots lower. It grades a D, and the process earned it.

They handed away value on the phones that the picks cannot earn back. The whole projection now runs through J.J. McCarthy; hit there and everything else looks smarter. They will regret leaving cornerback for another day if the season turns on it.

Landing Colson that late papers over a lot of smaller sins.

Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, cornerback very much included.
