Draft Grade — Falcons
Overall A
ValueA- NeedB TradesA+ FutureA+
The Falcons let Starks fall and pounced. Final grade: A.

You build a draft on nights like this. Malaki Starks had no business being available in the Round 3 slot, and the Falcons did the only sane thing and turned in the card. Very little went wrong, and the A is earned.

They won the margins on every swap, and it adds up fast. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped quarterback, which is a strange place to end up. Offensive lineman was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

Bottom line, with Mykel Williams leading the way, this is a class that should pay off fast and rarely be regretted.

Pick Analysis
Pick33 Rnd2 Mykel Williams
Mykel Williams slid further than he should have, and pick No. 33 is lovely value for the edge rusher. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick66 Rnd3 Malaki Starks
A safety of that caliber at slot 66 is the definition of value, full stop. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick91 Rnd3 Omarr Norman-Lott
Steal is underselling it; Omarr Norman-Lott at pick 91 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick118 Rnd4 Joshua Farmer
Nothing to complain about; Joshua Farmer went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick129 Rnd4 Zy Alexander
Zy Alexander at the 129th pick is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick133 Rnd4 Hollin Pierce
Hollin Pierce in the 133rd overall pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick218 Rnd7 Luke Lachey
Value with a capital V on Luke Lachey in the Round 7 slot, a genuine coup. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick242 Rnd7 Donovan Edwards
A top-tier running back at a bargain, Donovan Edwards in Round 7, Pick 26, plain and simple. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
