Draft Grade — Falcons
Overall B
ValueA- NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
A solid, sensible weekend for the Falcons: B.

The Falcons clearly saw something nobody else did in David Walker, taking him 40 picks ahead of his grade. The board is not convinced. It nets out to a B, which feels about right.

Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Emmanwori. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped offensive lineman, which is a strange place to end up. Interior defensive lineman is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the offensive lineman spot they never got to.

Pick Analysis
Pick15 Rnd1 Mason Graham
In pick No. 15 they get a load in the middle, and a steal at that. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick46 Rnd2 Nick Emmanwori
A safety of that caliber at the 46th overall pick is the definition of value, full stop. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick117 Rnd4 David Walker
They talked themselves into David Walker at slot 117, and the board did not agree. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick244 Rnd7 Jaylin Smith
A premium they did not need to pay, Jaylin Smith a notch or two before his time. It adds depth where they could use a little.
