Draft Grade — Falcons

FutureA+
No fireworks, just a tidy B+ for the Falcons. There was a run on nobody at that position, and the Falcons started one anyway for Ahmed Hassanein, 67 picks ahead of schedule.
However the rest shakes out, Gadsden II at that price is a win they earned. A whole weekend of picks and quarterback is somehow still a want.
The veteran additions, Joshua Palmer chief among them, give the class a floor the rookies alone would not. The hoard sets up next April more than it helps this September.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick Analysis
Pick49
Rnd2
Nick Emmanwori
You do not let a safety like Nick Emmanwori reach pick 49 and blink. They did not. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick51
Rnd2
T.J. Sanders
T.J. Sanders in Round 2, Pick 19 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick117
Rnd4
Jermari Harris
Jermari Harris slid further than he should have, and the Round 4 slot is lovely value for the cornerback. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick124
Rnd4
Charles Grant
Charles Grant at slot 124 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick159
Rnd5
Ahmed Hassanein
A big swing on Ahmed Hassanein at the 159th overall pick, well ahead of any board in the building. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick177
Rnd5
CJ West
A wild overpay on CJ West in the 177th pick, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick183
Rnd6
Trey Zuhn III
Trey Zuhn III at the 183rd overall pick is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick193
Rnd6
Karene Reid
No drama and no debate, Karene Reid went about where he belonged in pick 193. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick201
Rnd6
Oronde Gadsden II
Steal is underselling it; Oronde Gadsden II at No. 201 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick244
Rnd7
Chimere Dike
Chimere Dike in pick No. 244 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
