You could see the war room lean forward. Jeffrey Bassa at slot 208 is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B.

The cost of the McLaughlin reach is exactly the players who went right after him. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up.

On the needs board they went 5 of 8, with interior defensive lineman the one that mattered most.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.
