Wyattw90 DRAFTING FOR THETitans
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Titans
Overall
B-
ValueB-
NeedB-
TradesB-
FutureB-
The Titans checked most of the boxes and earned a B-. If confidence were a draft strategy, the Titans would have aced it. Ahmed Hassanein at pick 120 is 117 spots clear of where he belonged. They moved the roster forward and banked a B- for it.
That Henderson pick is the receipt they will wave around later. That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
Job largely done: offensive lineman settled and 6 of 8 of the wish list covered. The back end got a real overhaul.
All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
Pick Analysis
Pick1
Rnd1
Travis Hunter
In the 1st overall pick they get a press-man option on the boundary at fair value.
Pick35
Rnd2
Tyler Warren
Tyler Warren at the 35th pick is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick103
Rnd4
TreVeyon Henderson
They barely believed it either: TreVeyon Henderson still on the board at Round 4, Pick 1. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick120
Rnd4
Ahmed Hassanein
Ahmed Hassanein in slot 120 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick141
Rnd5
Clay Webb
A big swing on Clay Webb at the Round 5 slot, well ahead of any board in the building. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick167
Rnd5
Ty Hamilton
They reached into another round for Ty Hamilton, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick178
Rnd6
Nick Nash
They robbed the room for Nick Nash here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick188
Rnd6
Howard Cross III
Value said wait; Howard Cross III in the 188th pick says they were not listening. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
