Draft Grade — Bills
Overall B-
ValueB NeedB TradesC+ FutureB
The Bills let Walker fall into their laps, and walked away with a B-.

Somebody in the Round 6 slot was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Bills sat still while Devontez Walker, the No. 152 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium.

Leaving interior defensive lineman unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. Reaching for Mills left real value on the table behind him. Linebacker was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

They trusted the board more than the depth chart.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the interior defensive lineman spot they never got to.

Pick Analysis
Pick19 Rnd1 Xavier Worthy
In the 19th overall pick they get a weapon on the perimeter, reach and all. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick50 Rnd2 Kris Abrams-Draine
The board had Kris Abrams-Draine higher than Round 2, Pick 18, and the cornerback fell to them anyway. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick99 Rnd3 Andrew Mukuba
A clean, defensible pick in the Round 3 slot with a little surplus value in Andrew Mukuba. It fills a real need, too.
Pick118 Rnd4 Troy Fautanu
Troy Fautanu at the 118th pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick146 Rnd5 Reuben Fatheree II
They robbed the room for Reuben Fatheree II here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick155 Rnd5 Jamon Dumas-Johnson
Jamon Dumas-Johnson in No. 155 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick191 Rnd6 Cam Hart
Value with a capital V on Cam Hart in pick No. 191, a genuine coup. A want more than a need, though you can never have too many.
Pick196 Rnd6 Mike Sainristil
Mike Sainristil at pick 196 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. It is more luxury than necessity; they were already set here.
Pick204 Rnd6 Devontez Walker
Taking Devontez Walker in pick No. 204 is close to grand larceny; a wide receiver that good had no business lasting this long. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick239 Rnd7 Rylie Mills
They reached into another round for Rylie Mills, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
