Sadiq should have been long gone. The Commanders pounced, and earned a B-.

Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Kenyon Sadiq got past him. The Commanders do not have to explain a thing at Round 6, Pick 17.

The wide receiver spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. Every board in the league had Styles lower, and that gap is the story. They went 4 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.

Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.

Pick Analysis
Pick7 Rnd1 Sonny Styles
In the 7th pick they get a green-dot type in the middle, though they paid up to get him. Need was not the driver here.
Pick71 Rnd3 Mansoor Delane
Mansoor Delane in No. 71 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick145 Rnd5 David Bailey
A top-tier edge rusher at a bargain, David Bailey in pick 145, plain and simple. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick185 Rnd6 Akheem Mesidor
Akheem Mesidor in slot 185 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick196 Rnd6 Kenyon Sadiq
A tight end of that caliber at Round 6, Pick 17 is the definition of value, full stop. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick223 Rnd7 Connor Lew
The board fumbled Connor Lew all the way to the Round 7 slot, and they scooped it up. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
