The Broncos robbed the room for Fitzgerald. Final grade: A-.

Somebody in pick No. 234 was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Broncos sat still while Ryan Fitzgerald, the No. 117 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium. One of the weekend's best, top to bottom, and a A- to show for it.

They won the margins on every swap, and it adds up fast. Leaving interior defensive lineman unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. The imported veterans give this class a floor the draft picks could not on their own.

It is a bet on later, and a defensible one for a team playing the long game.

Bottom line, with Nick Emmanwori leading the way, this is a class that should pay off fast and rarely be regretted.
