The best pick of the weekend was also the simplest. The Panthers watched Carson Beck slide 119 picks past his grade and did not hesitate. For now it grades a C, with the swing picks left to settle the rest.

The trades bled value they could not afford to lose. Leaving edge rusher unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

Reaching for Caldwell left real value on the table behind him.
