FutureB-
Best value of the weekend goes to the Steelers for Marks: B. Somebody in the 231st overall pick was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Steelers sat still while Woody Marks, the No. 181 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium. Good, not great, and the B says as much.
That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. Interior defensive lineman was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom. Trading back for volume was the quiet throughline of their weekend.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
Pick Analysis
Pick22
Rnd1
Walter Nolen
In pick 22 they get a load in the middle. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick83
Rnd3
Quinshon Judkins
Quinshon Judkins at slot 83 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick86
Rnd3
Denzel Burke
Denzel Burke in the 86th pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick97
Rnd3
Ashton Gillotte
No drama and no debate, Ashton Gillotte went about where he belonged in Round 3, Pick 33. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick122
Rnd4
Donovan Jackson
Circle this one: Donovan Jackson at the Round 4 slot is a fall that decides a draft. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick161
Rnd5
Nick Nash
The board fumbled Nick Nash all the way to the 161st overall pick, and they scooped it up. The roster fit checks out.
Pick163
Rnd5
Kobe King
Kobe King at pick No. 163 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick225
Rnd7
Jaylen Reed
Steal is underselling it; Jaylen Reed at No. 225 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick231
Rnd7
Woody Marks
Somehow Woody Marks was still sitting there in pick No. 231, and they pounced on premier running back value. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick247
Rnd7
John Williams
John Williams in the 247th overall pick is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. They added to a strength when a need was still open elsewhere.
