Draft Grade — Bills
Overall D
ValueB NeedB TradesF FutureB
A costly weekend of dealing drags the Bills to a D.

The trade table was where it all came apart. The Bills shipped out far more than they hauled back, and no amount of spin dresses up the bill.

For all the activity, linebacker went untouched, which is hard to explain. The cost of the Nourzad reach is exactly the players who went right after him. Landing Robinson that late papers over a lot of smaller sins.

The Trey Smith pickup adds a known quantity to a class of unknowns.

It is a steep hill from here, and the grade knows it.

Pick Analysis
Pick32 Rnd1 Adonai Mitchell
In the 32nd pick they get a home-run threat at receiver at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick37 Rnd2 Cooper DeJean
The board had Cooper DeJean higher than Round 2, Pick 5, and the cornerback fell to them anyway. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick71 Rnd3 Ricky Pearsall
Ricky Pearsall slipping to slot 71 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick128 Rnd4 Sataoa Laumea
Sataoa Laumea at No. 128 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick134 Rnd4 Johnny Wilson
A tidy bit of business in pick No. 134, where Johnny Wilson graded well above the range. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick144 Rnd5 Hunter Nourzad
Hunter Nourzad at the Round 5 slot jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick189 Rnd6 Layden Robinson
Layden Robinson slid further than he should have, and pick 189 is lovely value for the offensive lineman. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick204 Rnd6 Evan Williams
Evan Williams in the 204th overall pick is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
