The Panthers lost the trade table, and the D- tells the story.

If confidence were a draft strategy, the Panthers would have aced it. Richard Jibunor at the Round 6 slot is 128 spots clear of where he belonged. A D- that will need time and luck to look better.

The trades bled value they could not afford to lose. Landing Burton that late papers over a lot of smaller sins.

The Panthers indulged a want in Rogers while a need in quarterback stayed open. The quarterback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.

They are betting the present roster is worth a lighter draft next spring.

Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and quarterback is still a hole.
