Draft Grade — Steelers
Overall B
ValueC+ NeedB TradesB+ FutureB-
Best value of the weekend goes to the Steelers for Rosemy-Jacksaint: B.

This is the pick they will still be bragging about in July: Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint, the No. 198 name on the board, stolen at the 240th pick.

They will need Gray to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. A whole weekend of picks and interior defensive lineman is somehow still a want. The Foster pick reads as want over need, and the roster will feel it at interior defensive lineman, edge rusher and other spots.

A modest surplus at the table, banked quietly.

Good work on the whole, with interior defensive lineman the one box left unchecked.

Pick Analysis
Pick20 Rnd1 Brian Thomas Jr.
Brian Thomas Jr. at the Round 1 slot is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick64 Rnd2 Max Melton
They paid sticker price for Max Melton in pick 64, and that is fine. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick84 Rnd3 Cedric Gray
Cedric Gray at slot 84 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick93 Rnd3 Beaux Limmer
A wild overpay on Beaux Limmer in pick No. 93, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick119 Rnd4 Javon Foster
The eyebrow-raiser of the weekend. They went offensive lineman with Javon Foster while clear needs at interior defensive lineman, edge rusher and other spots sat open.
Pick120 Rnd4 Jordan Travis
Value said wait; Jordan Travis in the 120th overall pick says they were not listening. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick173 Rnd5 Kitan Oladapo
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Kitan Oladapo at the 173rd pick. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick195 Rnd6 Jaylan Ford
Jaylan Ford in No. 195 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick240 Rnd7 Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint
Circle this one: Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint at the 240th overall pick is a fall that decides a draft. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
