Draft Grade — Bears

The Bears let Egbuka fall into their laps, and walked away with a C-.

This is the pick they will still be bragging about in July: Emeka Egbuka, the No. 25 name on the board, stolen at No. 53. The good and the questionable cancel out to a C-.

The dealing is the wound this class cannot quite close. They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it.

Every board in the league had Hall Jr. lower, and that gap is the story.

The verdict is a shrug for now, with the swing picks left to write the real ending.

Pick Analysis
Pick7 Rnd1 Olumuyiwa Fashanu
In the 7th overall pick they get a blindside protector at fair value. A real need, handled.
Pick21 Rnd1 Rome Odunze
In Round 1, Pick 21 they get a go-to option on the outside, and a steal at that. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick53 Rnd2 Emeka Egbuka
A top-tier wide receiver at a bargain, Emeka Egbuka in the 53rd pick, plain and simple. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick69 Rnd3 T.J. Tampa
T.J. Tampa at pick No. 69 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick71 Rnd3 Michael Hall Jr.
The board had cheaper options than Michael Hall Jr. at the Round 3 slot, and it noticed. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
