tuz1n DRAFTING FOR THEPackers
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Packers
Overall
B
ValueA-
NeedB
TradesB-
FutureB-
The Packers cashed the board's mistake on Nelson: B. You build a draft on nights like this. Jack Nelson had no business being available in pick 237, and the Packers did the only sane thing and turned in the card. More right than wrong, and a B to match.
For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain. Cornerback was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.
Pick Analysis
Pick23
Rnd1
Tetairoa McMillan
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Tetairoa McMillan at Round 1, Pick 23 is the proof. The roster fit checks out.
Pick54
Rnd2
Alfred Collins
Alfred Collins at pick No. 54 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick87
Rnd3
Darien Porter
Value with a capital V on Darien Porter in pick 87, a genuine coup. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick124
Rnd4
Danny Stutsman
Steal is underselling it; Danny Stutsman at slot 124 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick159
Rnd5
Tez Johnson
You do not let a wide receiver like Tez Johnson reach the 159th pick and blink. They did not. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick198
Rnd6
Trevor Etienne
Trevor Etienne at No. 198 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick237
Rnd7
Jack Nelson
Jack Nelson at the 237th overall pick is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick250
Rnd7
Jabbar Muhammad
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Jabbar Muhammad in the Round 7 slot. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
