Draft Grade — Jets
Overall A-
ValueB- NeedB- TradesA+ FutureA+
The Jets fleeced the room on the phones and earned a A-.

The Braiden McGregor pick is the one that will follow the Jets into the fall. They took him 88 spots ahead of his grade, and the board is not shy about saying so.

However the rest shakes out, Mitchell at that price is a win they earned. They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own. The imported veterans give this class a floor the draft picks could not on their own.

Add it up and few war rooms did better this weekend, Amarius Mims and all.

Pick Analysis
Pick26 Rnd1 Amarius Mims
In the Round 1 slot they get a blindside protector. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick31 Rnd1 Tyler Guyton
In pick No. 31 they get protection for the quarterback, reach and all. A real need, handled.
Pick54 Rnd2 Brian Thomas Jr.
They barely believed it either: Brian Thomas Jr. still on the board at pick 54. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick63 Rnd2 Keon Coleman
Keon Coleman at No. 63 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick66 Rnd3 Michael Hall Jr.
They reached a country mile for Michael Hall Jr. at slot 66, and the board is aghast. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick72 Rnd3 Quinyon Mitchell
A cornerback of that caliber at the 72nd overall pick is the definition of value, full stop. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick89 Rnd3 Johnny Wilson
Value with a capital V on Johnny Wilson in the Round 3 slot, a genuine coup. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick97 Rnd3 Sataoa Laumea
Sataoa Laumea in pick No. 97 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick105 Rnd4 Beaux Limmer
A big swing on Beaux Limmer at No. 105, well ahead of any board in the building. The roster fit checks out.
Pick127 Rnd4 Braiden McGregor
Braiden McGregor at the 127th overall pick is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick132 Rnd4 Khyree Jackson
They will replay Khyree Jackson at pick 132 for years; that is how good the value is. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick137 Rnd5 Beau Brade
Somehow Beau Brade was still sitting there in slot 137, and they pounced on premier safety value. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick138 Rnd5 Ray Davis
Ray Davis at the 138th pick is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. It fills a real need, too.
Pick144 Rnd5 Jordan Travis
A clean, defensible pick in Round 5, Pick 8 with a little surplus value in Jordan Travis. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick171 Rnd5 Jaylan Ford
A reach on Jaylan Ford in the Round 5 slot; the board had better options right there. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick178 Rnd6 Luke McCaffrey
You do not let a wide receiver like Luke McCaffrey reach the 178th overall pick and blink. They did not. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick189 Rnd6 Trevor Keegan
This one needs a full-page explanation: Trevor Keegan in slot 189, miles early. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick241 Rnd7 Miyan Williams
Miyan Williams in the 241st pick is a gift, value that borders on unfair. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick244 Rnd7 Tanner McLachlan
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Tanner McLachlan. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick253 Rnd7 Jalen Green
Jalen Green in pick No. 253 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick254 Rnd7 Nathaniel Watson
By-the-book stuff, Nathaniel Watson at Round 7, Pick 34 squarely in line with his ranking. They doubled down on a strength rather than a need.
Pick257 Rnd7 Zakhari Franklin
They let Zakhari Franklin come to them and pounced at pick 257. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
