Grand theft in pick 249: the Lions steal Sanders and grade out a D+. Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Lions were there to profit. T.J. Sanders, the No. 40 name on the board, should have been long gone before Round 7, Pick 33. The board pushed back all weekend, and the D+ is the result.
They handed away value on the phones that the picks cannot earn back. They will regret leaving quarterback for another day if the season turns on it. Cornerback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
The weekend tilted hard toward the defense.
Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, quarterback very much included.
