The trade table was where it all came apart. The Jets shipped out far more than they hauled back, and no amount of spin dresses up the bill.

So much rides on Jayden Daniels that the rest of the class almost grades on a curve behind him. If Steele pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. The cornerback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.

The Smith pick reads as want over need, and the roster will feel it at cornerback, edge rusher and other spots. That is a DT-EDGE worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly.

A rough weekend that leaves the roster with more questions than answers.
