The Bears clearly saw something nobody else did in Jackson Slater, taking him 142 picks ahead of his grade. The board is not convinced. It grades a D-, and the process earned it.

The edge rusher hole is the one line item this class does not answer. Offensive lineman was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.

Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even.
