FutureB-
Larceny in pick No. 58 lands the 49ers a D+, Thieneman and all. The 49ers lost the trade war and it was not close, handing partners the better end again and again.
They covered a lot of ground and still skipped running back, which is a strange place to end up. Landing Thieneman that late papers over a lot of smaller sins.
The Gulbin reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade.
In the end, a class the front office will want to grow past quickly.
Pick Analysis
Pick33
Rnd2
Kenyon Sadiq
Kenyon Sadiq in the Round 2 slot is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick44
Rnd2
Brandon Cisse
They read the board right and Brandon Cisse was the payoff at slot 44. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick58
Rnd2
Dillon Thieneman
A safety of that caliber at No. 58 is the definition of value, full stop. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick94
Rnd3
Zachariah Branch
A quiet steal in Round 3, Pick 30: Zachariah Branch for less than the market said. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick127
Rnd4
Keylan Rutledge
Keylan Rutledge at the 127th overall pick is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the offensive lineman. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick133
Rnd4
Isaiah World
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Isaiah World. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick171
Rnd5
Aaron Anderson
Fair-plus on Aaron Anderson, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick172
Rnd5
Matt Gulbin
A reach for Matt Gulbin in the 172nd overall pick; a little patience would have been rewarded. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick255
Rnd7
Jalon Daniels
They barely believed it either: Jalon Daniels still on the board at the 255th pick. The roster fit checks out.
