Draft Grade — Packers
Overall B
ValueC+ NeedB- TradesA+ FutureB-
A masterclass at the trade table lands the Packers a B.

There is reaching, and then there is DeMonte Capehart at pick 251. The Packers jumped the board by 109 and dared it to prove them wrong. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B.

However the rest shakes out, Whittington at that price is a win they earned. The trade ledger is the best part of the whole weekend.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up. With edge rusher and cornerback unsolved, spending premium capital on linebacker is the choice that costs them.

Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.

Pick Analysis
Pick9 Rnd1 Rome Odunze
In Round 1, Pick 9 they get a true top target. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick43 Rnd2 Jeremiah Trotter Jr.
Jeremiah Trotter Jr. at slot 43 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick73 Rnd3 Amarius Mims
Amarius Mims in the 73rd pick is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick86 Rnd3 Zak Zinter
They paid sticker price for Zak Zinter in the 86th overall pick, and that is fine. The roster fit checks out.
Pick109 Rnd4 Tommy Eichenberg
They bypassed pressing needs at edge rusher and cornerback to take Tommy Eichenberg, a linebacker that was not the priority.
Pick135 Rnd4 Cole Bishop
A market-rate safety, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Cole Bishop. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick139 Rnd5 Tyler Guyton
They took Tyler Guyton at par in pick 139, which is nothing to complain about. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick159 Rnd5 Malachi Moore
Malachi Moore at Round 5, Pick 23 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. Where it fits the depth chart is the real question.
Pick187 Rnd6 Devontez Walker
Somehow Devontez Walker was still sitting there in pick No. 187, and they pounced on premier wide receiver value. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick219 Rnd6 Erick All
The board had cheaper options than Erick All at the 219th pick, and it noticed. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick230 Rnd7 Cody Schrader
Cody Schrader at No. 230 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick232 Rnd7 Sam Hartman
A big swing on Sam Hartman at the 232nd overall pick, well ahead of any board in the building. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick251 Rnd7 DeMonte Capehart
Value said wait; DeMonte Capehart in the Round 7 slot says they were not listening. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick255 Rnd7 Jordan Whittington
They barely believed it either: Jordan Whittington still on the board at slot 255. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
