Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Trey Amos got past him. The Patriots do not have to explain a thing at slot 223.

They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it. The dealing tilted against them, just enough to notice.

Quantity was the play, for better or worse. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.

Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.
