Alexander should have been long gone. The Raiders pounced, and earned a B.

The Raiders spent the weekend waiting on one name, and it fell: Zy Alexander, the No. 107 name on the board, in the Round 5 slot. It nets out to a B, which feels about right.

They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it. Bassa has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. They left with cornerback solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.

Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.

Pick Analysis
Pick6 Rnd1 Kelvin Banks Jr.
In slot 6 they get a blindside protector. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick37 Rnd2 Tyler Warren
They robbed the room for Tyler Warren here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick68 Rnd3 Tre Harris
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Tre Harris at the Round 3 slot is the proof. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick108 Rnd4 Jeffrey Bassa
The board had cheaper options than Jeffrey Bassa at No. 108, and it noticed. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick143 Rnd5 Zy Alexander
Taking Zy Alexander in pick 143 is close to grand larceny; a cornerback that good had no business lasting this long. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick180 Rnd6 Kalel Mullings
Value with a capital V on Kalel Mullings in the 180th pick, a genuine coup. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick213 Rnd6 Karene Reid
Karene Reid in the 213th overall pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
Pick215 Rnd6 Addison West
They paid sticker price for Addison West in Round 6, Pick 39, and that is fine. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick222 Rnd7 Akili Arnold
Akili Arnold in slot 222 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
