The Patriots looked at the value chart, folded it up, and took Sai'vion Jones at the Round 4 slot regardless, 40 picks early.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped interior defensive lineman, which is a strange place to end up. That is a running back worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. The roster is better shaped than it was, with edge rusher chief among the fixes.
