Draft Grade — Jaguars
Overall B-
ValueB NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
A passer of the future in Sanders, and a B-, for the Jaguars.

The Jaguars spent the pick that matters most on Shedeur Sanders, and a roster that has been waiting on a passer can start to take shape. They moved the roster forward and banked a B- for it.

Barron falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. If Phillips pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through linebacker.

Almost all the early capital went to that side of the ball.

Good work on the whole, with linebacker the one box left unchecked.

Pick Analysis
Pick5 Rnd1 Shedeur Sanders
They took Shedeur Sanders at par in pick 5, which is nothing to complain about. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick36 Rnd2 Jahdae Barron
Jahdae Barron at the 36th overall pick is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick70 Rnd3 Maxwell Hairston
A clean, defensible pick in the 70th pick with a little surplus value in Maxwell Hairston. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick88 Rnd3 Jordan Phillips
They left a pile of value on the table to take Jordan Phillips this early at slot 88. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick107 Rnd4 Tory Horton
A market-rate wide receiver, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Tory Horton. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick126 Rnd4 Anthony Belton
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Anthony Belton at Round 4, Pick 24 is the proof. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick142 Rnd5 Andres Borregales
Andres Borregales at the Round 5 slot is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. They added to a strength when a need was still open elsewhere.
Pick182 Rnd6 DJ Giddens
DJ Giddens at No. 182 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. The roster fit checks out.
Pick194 Rnd6 Oronde Gadsden II
A straight-up fair deal on Oronde Gadsden II at the 194th pick, value and slot in agreement. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick221 Rnd7 Craig Woodson
By-the-book stuff, Craig Woodson at the Round 7 slot squarely in line with his ranking. A need, and now a little less of one.
