Ethan DRAFTING FOR THEGiants
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Giants
Overall

FutureB-
The Giants bet the future on Sanders. The board says B-. The rest of the league had time to spare on R.J. Oben; the Giants did not wait, grabbing him 119 spots ahead at pick 245.
They banked enough surplus on Henderson to cover a lot of smaller sins. Whatever Shedeur Sanders becomes, the front office has tied its fortunes to the answer.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through wide receiver.
All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
Pick Analysis
Pick1
Rnd1
Shedeur Sanders
In the Round 1 slot they get a long-term answer under center. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick33
Rnd2
Kenneth Grant
A reasonable price with a little left over, Kenneth Grant in Round 2, Pick 1. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick65
Rnd3
Tyler Booker
They will replay Tyler Booker at pick No. 65 for years; that is how good the value is. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick102
Rnd4
Maxwell Hairston
A tidy little value on Maxwell Hairston in No. 102, a step better than break-even. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick134
Rnd4
TreVeyon Henderson
Taking TreVeyon Henderson in the 134th pick is close to grand larceny; a running back that good had no business lasting this long. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick153
Rnd5
Barrett Carter
Somehow Barrett Carter was still sitting there in the 153rd overall pick, and they pounced on premier linebacker value. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick217
Rnd7
Jared Wilson
Nothing to complain about; Jared Wilson went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick245
Rnd7
R.J. Oben
They reached a country mile for R.J. Oben at Round 7, Pick 31, and the board is aghast. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick256
Rnd7
Shilo Sanders
Shilo Sanders in pick No. 256 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
